Noon Sharpening, Inc. - The Environmentally Friendly Sharpener
Kevin Noon has been sharpening most of his life. Taught as a young child by his father he has continued to hone his skills over the years.
When he was laid off from his construction career in 2009, he decided to sharpen knives for people and pursued venues such as Farmers' Markets, groups and store fronts. From those simple beginnings, Noon Sharpening, Inc. has grown to a very fulfilling career. Kevin is one of the only full time sharpeners.
Kevin is a member of the Cleveland Sharpeners Guild.
Kevin sharpens at all the Heinen's stores (in both the Cleveland and Chicago areas), Bassett's Markets in Port Clinton and Bellevue, the Countryside Conservancy Farmers' Market in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park at Howe Meadow in the summer and Old Trail School in the winter. He also sharpens for schools, groups, businesses and individuals.
Kevin sharpens on a re-purposed 1923 treadle. By not using electricity it makes Kevin -- the environmentally friendly sharpener!
